My Current Books and Products

Over the years I’ve self-published three books, two courses, and a few apps and software products. While Kit is my main focus, books like Authority have served as a roadmap for an entire generation of creators to earn a living online.

Kit

In October 2014, I made the decision to walk away from the book and training business and focus full-time on Kit (at the time we had just $1,000/month in revenue). Since then we’ve grown to millions in monthly recurring revenue, and have an amazing team, product, and customers.

Authority

Authority is a complete guide to earning a living through self-publishing. Since it’s first release in 2013 it has sold over 15,000 copies and helped authors earn over $5 million from their books.

Designing Web Applications

Designing Web Applications took the user experience principles I pioneered in my first book and brought them to web software. While it hasn’t been updated in a few years, the principles and ideas are still very relevant to software founders and designers today.

Retired Products

A few of the products I’ve built over the years are out of date or no longer available. I decided to leave them up for reference because they have been referenced in so many case studies and blog posts across the web.

The App Design Handbook

My first book, originally published in September, 2012, kicked off my self-publishing career. After it made $12,000 in the first 24 hours after launch I became obsessed with product launches and email marketing.

Photoshop for Web Design

Most Photoshop courses are focused on photography, so I created this course specifically to learn the parts of Photoshop needed for web design. I’ve since retired it as the industry has moved to more modern tools like Sketch and Figma for interface design.

Commit App

Commit was a simple app to help creators form and track habits. I stopped updating it when I focused full-time on Kit. Now I use an app called Streaks for similar functionality.
