About Me

Hey there! My name’s Nathan and I like to build audiences and companies. Right now 110% of my time is focused on building Kit: the operating system for creators who mean business. Kit powers the audiences of tens of thousands of creators including Tim Ferriss, Gretchen Rubin, James Clear, Tim McGraw, and many more.

My mission is to help creators earn a living.

Growing up without money I’ve seen the impact that not enough money has on relationships and stress. From an early age I was determined to unlock whatever secrets were necessary to earn a great living.

Jason Fried from Basecamp taught me that making money is a skill, just like playing an instrument or learning to create. With that new knowledge I set out to master earning a living as a creator.

My journey started with freelance web design, moved into selling iPhone apps, then growing my own audience and selling books on design.

When I learned that email marketing was the most reliable way to earn a living as a creator I started Kit to turn all the best practices I was learning into a repeatable system for other creators.

While it’s fun to have famous creators using Kit, the best feeling comes from the creators who are able to use our software to make the jump to earning a living as a creator.

I’m the founder of Kit.

In October 2014, I made the decision to walk away from the book and training business and focus full-time on Kit (at the time we had just $1,000/month in revenue). Since then we’ve grown to millions in monthly recurring revenue, and have an amazing team, product, and customers.
